98 Points Vinous Media: Very pale rose gold color. Incredible high-pitched nose combines strawberry, iodine, cinnamon, rose petal, minerals and earth. Almost painfully intense in the mouth, with a brilliant kernel of spicy fruit and pure minerally soil tones. With its bracing acids, this is distinctly austere today, yet the texture is remarkably fine-grained and there’s great sweetness of fruit lurking. An essence of iodiney soil character; like a hypothetical blend of a great Montrachet and a Gevrey-Chambertin grand cru. I hesitate to score this rose even higher than Krug’s great 1990 Clos du Mesnil, but this was the best bottle of Champagne I tasted this fall.
96 Points Wine Spectator: Marvelous. Burnished to an orange-gold color, this rosé evokes a complex palette of gingerbread, coffee, fig compote, orange peel and smoke flavors, all enmeshed in the supple texture and graceful harmony. Fades gently on the palate over the course of several minutes. Drink now through 2006. 500 cases imported. – Bruce Sanderson
96 Points James Suckling: Super fresh and bright with musky red fruit aromas as well as gently marzipan scented biscuits on the nose; spices all here too. Great complexity and depth, really elegant, assertive and deep. Long and even, superb depth through the finish. Great wine. Drink young and precocious. Krug ID 313042.
"For the last three years, Krug Rosé has been consistently brilliant, back to the ethereal grace the wine once delivered under the masterful blending of Henri Krug. It captures Pinot Noir with the vinous reality of a grand cru Burgundy, elevating those flavors into a more delicate ecstasy of taste. The brisk freshness of the wine might bring you to a cool limestone cave and just-picked fraises des bois. The complexity of the reserve wine lifts the palate to a more celestial realm. Mood-altering Pinot. December 2004." - Wine & SpiritsBlending many years gives Krug Grande Cuvée its unique fullness of flavours and aromas, incredible generosity and an absolute elegance that are impossible to express with the wines of just a single year. Krug Grande Cuvée is re-created each year beyond the notion of vintage. Every year, we recreate from scratch the multitude of facets that do not compete on the palate, but instead form a perfect harmony, the main characteristic of Krug Grande Cuvée. Its myriad aromas make Krug Grande Cuvée the richest of them all. Its generosity means that everyone can find something in it that stirs the emotions." - Eric Lebel, Chef de Caves, Maison Krug
