Krug's releases have always shown a wonderful balance between fruit and maturity. This rosé, the 23rd blending, is no exception. The nutty character of a mature Champagne is there along with red fruits, intense acidity from Pinot Noir and impeccable balance at the end. The wine is ready to drink. - RV, Wine Enthusiast

Krug Rosé has got darker over the years, a statement of intent perhaps, its significant 13% of macerated Pinot Noir sourced from a special plot in Ay. Despite this Chardonnay is the key shareholder in the blend, its 45% outweighing near equal measures of the two Pinots. Gravitas translates on the palate to cherry fruit and spice, herbs and hints of quince and rosemary; unashamedly complex for sure, gastronomically promising without a doubt. The NV Rosé 23ème Edition is wonderfully nuanced and layered, with lovely richness to play off a core of bright red berry fruit. Although not especially complex in this release, the Rosé offers lovely immediacy and tons of pure pleasure. Crushed berries, chalk, mint and white flowers are nicely softened in this super-expressive, beautifully persistent Rosé. A few more years in bottle will only help. The 23ème is a Champagne of pure and total pleasure. This release is based on 2011, with reserve wines back to 2000. 

A creamy plushness accents this tightly meshed rosé Champagne, with rich hints of toasted nut and caffè crema underscoring the baked currant and apricot fruit flavors. Well-honed acidity focuses this through to the mouthwatering, chalk- and spice-laced finish. Disgorged spring 2017. Drink now through 2025. - AN, Wine Spectator

Mid strawberry pink with orange highlights. Extremely fruity. Massively ripe and fruity. Long and bumptious. The acidity is not so prominent but there is some tannin to compensate and add zest. Lot 217014. - Jancis Robinson
