Maggy Hawk Jolie Pinot Noir 2012 (750ML)
Critic Scores, Reviews & Descriptions
92 RPThe most elegant and seductive is the Chambolle-Musigny-like 2012 Pinot Noir Jolie. Dark ruby-plum colored (this is also the source for Hartford Courts Pinot Noir Velvet Sisters), it offers up blue fruits, spring flowers, and wet stones in an attractive, medium to full-bodied, well-crafted and pure style. It should drink nicely for up to a decade and be slightly more approachable than the Afleet.
This is a small boutique project with winemaker Elizabeth Grant-Douglas, better known as principal winemaker at La Crema, turning out between 156-300+ cases of single-block Pinot Noirs from the Maggy Hawk Vineyard. Theyre all different clonal selections. All four of these wines need to be drunk 10-12 years after their release as they possess some moderate aging potential given their concentration and structure.
