The 2017 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru La Chatenière is showing beautifully, surpassing its performance from barrel. Unwinding in the glass with scents of white flowers, crisp green apple and oyster shell, it's medium to full-bodied, chalky and nicely concentrated, with lively acids and a long, saline finish. William Kelley – The Wine Advocate
The 2017 Saint-Aubin La Chatenière 1er Cru has definitely improved since its so-so showing from barrel. It has attained the precision of the En Remilly, with almost as much mineralité, while the palate has a certain athleticism to it, expanding wonderfully toward the persistent, sapid finish. Excellent. Tasted twice with consistent notes.-- Neal Martin – Vinous Media
Tasting note: A pungent nose consists of sulfur and wood at present though there is good freshness to the full-bodied, opulent and vibrant medium-bodied flavors where citrus-tinged acidity adds lift to the sneaky long, complex and balanced finish. While the nose needs to clean up, it shouldn't be an issue beyond 6 months or so. Outstanding – Top Value – Allen Meadows - Burghound
