The 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos Saint-Jean opens in the glass with notions of peach, white flowers, citrus oil and clear honey. Medium to full-bodied, taut and racy, with a satiny attack and a long, saline finish, it unites cut and concentration to compelling effect.—William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
Mid lemon yellow, one of the more exotic noses. This continues on the palate but with an excellent thread of acidity. Still some floral notes all round and very good length. Leaves a very attractive aftertaste but I prefer the classicism of Champgains. Drink from 2025-2030. Tasted: November 2022.—Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
Tasting note: A more floral-suffused nose freely offers up its combination of mostly white fleshed fruit along with more subtle spice and citrus zest nuances. The sleek, delicious and attractively intense medium-bodied flavors possess a highly seductive mouthfeel, all wrapped in a bitter lemon-tinged finale that, like several wines in the range, would benefit from having better depth.—Allen Meadows, Burghound
