Bright, dark red with ruby tones. Dark raspberry, pungent smoky minerality and a sexy hint of underbrush on the Musigny-like nose and palate.Wonderfully rich, silky, fleshy wine with outstanding integrated mineral energy. An utterly pure, highly complex wine with great subtle depth and an explosive, unflagging finish featuring noble tannins and pronounced mineral salts. This beauty really leaves the taste buds humming. Incidentally, one of the four barrels of this elixir was new; Perrot-Minot told me he would not use any new oak if he only had three barrels of a wine. Stephen Tanzer - Vinous Media

The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru La Combe d'Orveau "Cuvée Ultra" has a vivacious, pure bouquet with blood orange-infused red cherry and cassis fruit, the oak beautifully integrated and allowing the terroir to shine through. The palate is silky smooth on the entry, somewhat "Cathiard" in style, with thr plush red cherry and blueberry keeping a rein on by the taut line of acidity. The expressive and highly complex nose is at once densely fruity yet elegant with its pretty and layered combination of essence of red currant, rose petal, violet and soft spice nuances. There is superb concentration to the extract-rich middle weight plus flavors that brim with minerality before culminating in a sleek, intense and impeccably well-balanced finish.
