The 2021 S Slatnik is outrageously spicy and intense, with pungent notes of dried lemon peels, ginger and honeyed flowers. It's just as wild on the palate, with depths of concentration offset by stimulating acidity and a burst of inner sweetness that soothes as tropical citrus and florals resonate throughout. There are wonderful contrasts through the finish, somehow drying yet also juicy and incredibly crisp. The Slatnik is a blend of 80% Chardonnay and 20% Friulano that goes through eight days of skin contact and refines for one year in large cask. Wow! - EG, Vinous Media

Slatnik is named after a specific hill very close to Radikon’s winery, with a particular type of compressed clay/marl soil known as ‘ponca’. The wine is the perfect synthesis of the innovative, recent vintages of ‘S’ wines, with shorter maceration for 10-14 days. The wine is a blend of about 80% Chardonnay and 20% Tocai Friulano, offering an expressive nose of green pear and white peach. Fragrant and juicy, in the mouth it combines present acidity with flinty minerality. The mix of freshness with subtle phenolics makes it a versatile food wine. - FM, Decanter

Slatnik is named after a nearby village. It is part of the "S" line from Radikon, which sees shorter macerations, is lightly sulfured at bottling and released in standard 750ml bottles. The grapes are destemmed, crushed and co-fermented with natural yeasts in oak vats with no temperature control and no sulfur. Maceration lasts for 10-14 days (versus three months for the flagship wines). After a gentle pressing, the wine is put in 6000L Friuli-made French oak botti for a year on its lees. It is bottled with a tiny amount of sulfur without filtration and then aged in bottle for a year before release.
