The 2019 Barolo Perno is a fine example of this site. It offers up crushed flowers, mint, cinnamon, licorice, dried herbs, menthol and dark-fleshed fruit, conveying intensity but also a feeling of weightless power that is quite a contrast to the more overt richness found in the Serralunga Barolos that form the core of this lineup.-Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media
