Sunflower yellow in colour; this is intense, with rich apricot puree and sweet toasted vanilla bean notes. Kick of lime juice on the finish gives balance, certainly delivers a gourmet white (the sample by the way was 48 hours old, which for whites in 2022 is perhaps a little too much - but that in itself tells a story). 3.34ph, 40% new oak. - Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux

The 2022 Caillou Blanc Talbot was picked 31 August to 5 September, aged in 40% new oak. Lively on the nose, it offers lemon verbena, lemon thyme and white peach scents on the nose. The palate is well balanced with an attractive waxy texture, more pithy than recent vintages with a spicy, stem ginger tinged finish. Thoroughly enjoyable. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media
