The 2016 Biserno is a softly textured wine with enormous richness, plushness and softness. The bouquet opens to profound depth with thick layers of dark fruit, sweet spice, chocolate, tar and camphor ash. Biserno is a large-frame, full-bodied blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. This vintage delivers enormous precision, grace and sharpness; however, the lasting impression it leaves is one of power, opulence and irresistible concentration. This wine speaks generously to all the senses, and to your heart. Monica Larner – The Wine Advocate
Marchese Lodovico Antinori, creator of two of Italy's most famed wines, Ornellaia and Masseto, conceived of his new project with these benchmarks in mind. He discovered the special Tenuta di Biserno terroir, situated in the Upper Maremma, with his long-time friend and wine adviser, Michel Rolland. He is joined by his brother, Marchese Piero Antinori, President of world renowned Antinori Wines.
If the 2016 Pino is a delicious mediterranean Bordeaux blend, the 2016 Biserno is a serious wine to age. From one of the best vintages for the vineyards around the Bolgherese road, it shines for intensity and restrained fruitiness, with black as well as fresher red fruits. Complex and layered with leafy notes and an almost bell pepper aroma, it's full of earthy minerality in depth with dark chocolate and myrtle. Youthful with great extraction of refined, ripe tannins and firm acidity. AF - Decanter.com
