2011 Bordeaux Futures, Newly Available

Prices in Bordeaux have fallen substantially--in some instances, by nearly 50%. With the last two vintages being lauded as the best of the decade, prices climbed to match the acclaim. And yet, while 2011 has not lived up to previous vintages' ratings, it is being praised as "accessible", more in keeping with classic Bordeaux.

We hope you'll take a moment to browse through the many 2011 Bordeaux futures we've just added to our online catalogue. We think you'll find the dramatic reduction in pricing something to get excited about!

Cheers!

"This is a much better vintage than I thought it was before my trip to Bordeaux and could turn out to be close in overall quality to years such as the underrated 2001 and 2008"
Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, April 2012

"It's hard to make comparisons, but 2011 to me seems better than a number of recent years including 2008, 2007, 2006, 2004, and 2002. I also think the quality is better than 1999 and 1996. It's on the same quality level, or slightly less, than 2001." James Suckling, April 2012

2011 Pontet Canet

Pontet Canet

2011 is the second vintage of Pontet Canet that is both certified organic and 100% biodynamic. The result is a complex and expressive wine that Robert Parker considers to be "of first-growth potential" that "should drink well for 20-25+ years." But the best news for consumers is that the 2011 Pontet represents a 45% reduction in price from the 2010!

Chateau Pontet Canet

93-95 Points Robert Parker
"Once again proprietor Alfred Tesseron has produced a wine of first-growth potential. One of the superstars of the vintage, Pontet-Canet's 2011 exhibits an opaque purple color and a glorious bouquet of incense, subtle toast and copious quantities of creme de cassis. There is a floral underpinning, decent acidity and ripe tannin to this full-bodied effort. Big, rich, round and generously endowed, it should drink well for 20-25+ years."

 Unsurpassed Value:
2009 Château de Chantegrive

We've just obtained yet another top-notch value Bordeaux from the 2009 vintage...and at the opening futures price, no less! This is a pre-arrival offer, and we highly-recommend reserving this fantastic "sleeper of the vintage" for your cellar.

90 Points Robert Parker
"
A major sleeper of the vintage, this blend of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot is another "best ever" performance. Notes of tobacco leaf, hot rocks, sweet kirsch and black currants are impressively displayed in this medium to full-bodied, velvety textured, very seductive style of wine. Drink it over the next decade."

The Magic of d'Yquem

Interesting Image

There is no greater wine today that can trace its earliest production back to the 16th century, while continuing to prove, vintage after vintage, its well-deserved status in the glass. D'Yquem stands alone in both its incredible aging potential and ability to delight and inspire palates throughout history. We, in turn, are delighted and inspired to offer this vertical selection of mature vintages at prices that are among the lowest anywhere!

Château d'Yquem must actually be smelled, tasted, and appreciated to understand its magic. In doing so, one realizes that this wine is - and always will - remain a mystery.
