It was a relatively easy vintage," winemaker Alain Chavy told me, “except for some stress with some young vines on the slope. But the old vines, around 60 years old, resisted the stress very well. The growth cycle was very quick and we
picked on August 28. We had to do just six treatments during the year, as there was no mildew or oidium. Alcohol was between 12.0° and 12.5°, so there was a small amount of chaptalization to raise the alcohol by just under half a
degree. All the wines were racked at the end of August 2021. The Bourgogne Chardonnay is bottled using a conglomerate cork and the others under natural cork. – Neal Martin, Vinous Media
