Almost invariably the finest wine in the range, Sigaut's 2019 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Sentiers Vieilles Vignes doesn't disappoint, unwinding in the glass with notes of black cherry, wild berries, Indian spices and rose petals. Medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, it's layered and velvety, with excellent concentrated, lively acids and the most integrated profile of all these 2019s.—William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
Planted in 1947 and in good health. Plump purple in colour, while the bouquet is hard to assess from a bottle opened the previous day and showing just a light touch of oxidation. To be ignored since in the mouth the wine is very pure and with extra depth, filling the palate, the oak is perfectly in harmony and very persistent. Tasted: April 2021—Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
Tasting note: Subtle wood can be found on the otherwise very ripe and layered aromas of dark cherry, raspberry, spice and discreet earth nuances. The rich medium-bodied and powerful flavors possess good intensity before terminating in a firmly structured and slightly raspy if impressively long finale. This moderately rustic and presently somewhat chewy effort is more Morey than Chambolle in 2018 and a wine that will need at least some forbearance. Outstanding. –Allen Meadows, Burghound
