Ballot Millot Volnay Taillepieds 1er Cru 2019 (750ML)

The wines of Charles Ballot are definitely under the radar Burgundies that have recently received a lot of attention. Primarily in Meursault, he is known for racy whites very much in the style of Roulot. His Volnay Taillepieds is made from 40+ year old vines, and of note is that Charles Ballot is not particularly concerned with deeply colored wine. He is more concerned with red Burgundy as a reflection of terroir. Aromatics, and balance are of higher importance to him as a winemaker.
