Clair feels Grasses Têtes gives Marsannay’s ‘vin de garde’. From several parcels of old vines that total just over 2ha, fermentation was conducted using 50% whole clusters to bring freshness to the wine, and the result has a deep, almost black colour with aromas of concentrated blackberry fruit, notes of menthol and fresh flowers. The rich texture and firm tannins are balanced by admirable freshness to give the wine impressive length.--Charles Curtis MW, Decanter

What a weight of fruit is here. Dark, mostly raspberry fruit, with noticeably firmer tannins, which is the site speaking. I love the way the fruit returns behind to deliver an impressive length of sweet red fruit at the finish. Tasted: November 2021.--Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
