Medium deep red, dark raspberry notes and some rose petals, whole bunches. Really lovely bouquet, growing in stature while retaining purity. A little of the sweet and sour character that whole bunches can show in their youth but which delivers complexity further down the line. Exceptional finish. 5 Star Wine. Tasted: September 2021. - Jasper Morris – Inside Burgundy
A discreet application of wood sets off the deeply pitched aromas that include plenty of floral elements with those of plum, pungent earth and soft sauvage hints. The more concentrated and powerful middle weight plus flavors possess good richness and muscle before concluding in a firm, focused and bitter cherry-inflected finish. This is quite firmly structured and serious and will definitely require extended cellaring to arrive at its apogee. Allen Meadows - Burghound
The 2017 Corton-Renardes Grand Cru is powerful, wild and savory. It will be interesting to see how it develops over time. Today, the 100% whole clusters and the wine’s structure are both overpowering, and yet there appears to be a good bit of potential. Readers will have to be patient, as the 2017 is in no mood to give up much right now, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Then again, it is Corton-Renardes. Antinio Galloni - Vinous Media
