I am impressed. Blue-fruit and blackberry character with crushed stone and cement. Dried lavender, too. It’s full and chewy with polished tannins. Really focused. One of the best I have had from here. - James Suckling
Strong black pepper, cloves, saffron and smoked cedar notes, adding up to spicy fruit and oak influence. A little overpowering on the attack but it settles down and this has excellent personality and hold. Good stuff. 5% Cabernet Franc completes the blend. A yield of 45hl/ha. The red 2019 Château Carbonnieux also showed nicely, with a deep plum/purple color as well as outstanding notes of red and black fruits, chocolate, tobacco, and damp earth. Rich, medium to full-bodied, and textured, it has loads of potential and is well worth checking out.
