Brilliant ruby. Pungent dark berry, cherry and licorice scents are sharpened by peppery spice and mocha flourishes. Fleshy blueberry and bitter cherry flavors slowly gain sweetness in the glass and pick up a smoky nuance on the back half. Aged only in concrete, the 2016 Crozes Hermitage la Petite Ruche is a supple, creamy-textured offering that should be consumed over the next 4-5 years for its blueberry and blackberry fruit.
