This Chardonnay-based Champagne from the Côte des Blancs is perfumed, fragrant. The citrus edge and minerality are in harmony, bringing together a wine that is taut, textured and ready to drink. — Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast
Beautiful nose of white flowers with candied lemon peel aromas underlined by a delicate white bread character with just a hint of toast. At once generous and elegant on the front palate, then the salty and chalky character builds beautifully, very nicely balancing the dosage at the long polished finish. A cuvee based on the 2018 vintage with 30% reserve wines matured for almost three years on the lees before disgorging in January 2023. Drink now. - James Suckling
Disgorged in 2022, the latest release of the Charles Heidsieck NV Blanc de Blancs is elaborated with 30% of reserve wines, of which 10% to 12% are aged in old barrels. It has a captivating bouquet with aromas of honeysuckle, lemon oil, citrus, peach, tangerine and delicate hints of pastry, followed by a medium to full-bodied, round and creamy, layered and elegant palate that finishes with chalky and brioche notes. A little time in the cellar will be more than profitable. - Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate
One of the pioneers of the blanc de blancs style, Charles Heidsieck only relaunched its 100% Chardonnay NV Champagne in 2018. Round but incisive and fresh, this has lovely balance between its creamy, woody mouthfeel and its fresh, saline acidity. A lovely food wine. - Decanter
The Charles Heidsieck Blanc de Blancs NV is a small production non-vintage wine (less than 10K cases produced) focused on expressing Champagne’s diverse Chardonnay terroirs. The blend is based on 2016 and has 45-50% Cotes des Blancs fruit (mostly Vertus and Oger) with the rest sourced from villages east to south. Much like the Brut Reserve the blend includes 25-30% of reserve wines, though only younger reserves up to 10 years old. It has a delicate, mineral-laced nose with creamy lemon curd and acacia honey notes. The light to medium-bodied palate is very textural with a soft, fine mousse enlivened by assertive acidity that adds considerable freshness to the long, saline finish. Dosgorged October 2022 and finished with nine grams per liter dosage. - Sarah Mayo, Wine Independent
Hints of toast and hazelnut form a rich thread running through the poached pear, plum, preserved lemon and grated ginger flavors of this mouthwatering Champagne, with a satiny bead. - Alison Napjus, Wine Spectator
The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs is refreshing with pure green apple, candied lime, and white flowers. It has a delicate mousse, with fresh lemon, ripe pear, and wet stone. Classic and refreshing, with a chalky feel on the finish, it is straightforward and elegant in its style. Drink 2022-2030. - Audrey Frick, JebDunnuck .com
Blend from Oger, Vertus, Villers-Marmery, Trépail, Vaudemange and Montgueux including 25% reserve wines, based on the 2014 vintage. Disgorged in 2019. Real autolysis effect on the nose. And a creamy texture and more richness on the palate than the Ayala 2014 Blanc de Blancs. Indeed it is decidedly richer than many Blanc de Blancs (and many growers' champagnes) but it's very well made and rewarding. - Jancis Robinson
