The 2019 Chauvin offers crisp blackberry and raspberry scents on the nose, rose petal and crushed stone joining the fray with continued aeration. It is understated but very precise. The palate is defined by chalky tannins, very well pitched acidity and hints of brown spices and cocoa judiciously sprinkled over the fruit. This is a superb Chauvin, maybe the best I have tasted in recent years. - Neal Martin

I don't think the 2019 Château Chauvin is going to match the 2018, but it should easily be an outstanding wine and shows the elegance of the vintage. Beautiful notes of black raspberries, mulberries, leafy herbs, and dusty spice emerge from the glass, and it's medium to full-bodied, seamless, and light on its feet on the palate. I'd like to see a touch more oomph, but I certainly love its balance and purity as well as its silky tannins. Tasted twice. - Jeb Dunnuck

An impressive wine that feels very true to the estate, with plenty of St Emilion signature - plump rich fruits and grilled oak without being overblown. Elegant, restrained with well placed blackberry and cherry, this really unrolls in the glass and is extremely enjoyable. There is twice as much Cabernet Franc as usual in the blend of the first wine, and it shows in the tension and lift through the finish. HVE3-certified. 60% new oak. Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2019 Chauvin slowly unfurls to offers glimpses at a gorgeous blackberry pie, Morello cherries and plum preserves perfume with underling notions of star anise, cardamom, cedar chest and smoked meats.
