A terrific second wine, the 2019 Clementin De Pape Clement has classic Pape Clement fruit and spice notes, yet everything is in a softer, more approachable style compared to the Grand Vin. Lots of red and black currants, tobacco leaf, chocolate, and baking spice notes emerge from the glass, and it’s medium-bodied and ready to go on the palate.
