Note: a .55 ha monopole
A mix of black cherry, oak spice and exotic woods—think sandalwood—aromas introduce this complex, detailed and mineral-tinged red, which is heady, yet juicy and harmonious, so much so you want to drink this now. The dense matrix of tannins suggests this will develop beautifully over the next two decades. Best from 2025 through 2043. 100 cases made, 30 cases imported. - BS, Wine Spectator
Tasting note: This is also aromatically ripe yet cool with its elegant and pure aromas of red and blue pinot fruit that possess a lovely array of spice and floral elements. The refined and equally pure mouthfeel is similar to that of the Carelle in that it's super-sleek and beautifully well-detailed while exuding an attractive minerality on the succulent but firm finale that confirms that this will need a decade plus of cellaring to realize its fully potential. One to check out.--Allen Meadows, Burghound
Monopole. Fresh mid purple, offering a very lively sensual nose, I thought whole bunch, but no, it is the vineyard, but this is gorgeous with soft ripe strawberry fruit lifted by some top raspberry notes. Certainly a ripe style of pinot, but its lovely. The bad news is that the yield was a ridiculously low 10 hl/ha. Tasted: October 2020 –Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
