A wine with balance and character with firm tannins and ripe fruit, plum and hints of cedar and spice. Meat too. Medium to full body. Drink now. 50% malbec, 20% cabernet sauvignon, 20% merlot and 10% syrah. - James Suckling
(57% malbec, 15% each merlot and cabernet franc, 10% syrah and 3% petit verdot): Saturated ruby. Pungent aromas of cassis, blackberry, licorice and violet pastille. Sweet, pliant and generous, with just enough acidity to give life and shape to the black fruit and bitter chocolate flavors. Finishes long and flavorful, with substantial chewy, ripe tannins and lingering notes of chocolate and minerals. This wine has benefited from the cooler year. - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media
Clos de los Siete is a perennial leader among under-$20 wines from Argentina. Blueberry and graham cracker aromas are ripe and a touch reduced. The palate is saturated yet juicy, while blackberry, boysenberry, cardamom and nutmeg flavors feed into a dark tasting, compact finish. For a 50,000-case wine, this is a prize to behold. — Michael Schachner, Wine Enthusiast
Vibrant crimson in colour but so much fresher and more appetising than the early vintages... Fresh, almost rose petal topnotes. Then the gaminess of Malbec, but overall a most appetising rendition. And far from one of the most expensive. Jjust a lightly oaky note on the end suggests it might be better young than old. - Jancis Robinson
