Explosive cherry and blackberry fruit, with a supple, silky and round texture balanced by a lively freshness. This Volnay is a wine of tremendous energy and vigour, produced exclusively from the young vines of Santenots-du-Milieu, farmed organically. The exuberant fruit is destemmed and given a traditional fermentation with both punching down and pumping over before ageing in cask (one-third new).--Charles Curtis MW, Decanter

A deepish purple black with quite a warm sultry nose. Then develops much more of a depth of fruit. Wholehearted. Huge fruit intensity on the palate, some cassis as well as dark berry fruit. This has some tension as well as poise, along with a darker idiom of fruit. Some minerality. Actually very good. Drink from 2030-2040+. Tasted: September 2024.--Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
