The 2022 Coutet has a beautifully-defined nose with pure botrytised fruit: tangerine, saffron, honeysuckle and orange rind hints. This has impressive focus. The palate is medium-bodied with a viscous opening, fine acidity, pure and harmonious. A tensile and persistent finish drags you back for another sip. Superb.--Neal Martin, Vinous Media

A blend of 94% Semillon, 5% Sauvignon Blanc, and 1% Muscadelle, with 158 g/L residual sugar, the 2022 Coutet is pale to medium straw in color. After a little swirling, the nose erupts with gorgeous lime cordial, fresh grapefruit, and mandarin peel scents, followed by wafts of wet pebbles, freshly shaved ginger, and beeswax. The palate is vibrant and shimmery with fantastic intensity and tension, finishing long and layered.--Lis Perrotti-Brown, The Wine Independent

Flowers, pineapples, mango, apricot and candied lemon notes get the wine going. The palate, with its layers of sweet, ripe and overripe, honeyed yellow, and orange fruits is fresh, long, intense, balanced, and most importantly, delicious! And isn't that the purpose of a wine? Drink from 2025-2055. 94-96 Pts.-Jeff Leve, Wine Cellar Insider

Light golden yellow, silver reflections. Gooseberries, limes and honey blossom, fresh bouquet. Juicy, elegant, white peach, integrated sweetness, pleasant freshness, yellow tropical fruit on the finish, remains long latsing, harmonious overall picture.-Peter Moser, Falstaff

One of the wines of the vintage, the 2022 Coutet opens with notes of apricots, spices and exotic fruits, setting the stage for a medium to full-bodied, round and supple palate enhanced by brightness and tension that culminates in a spicy, minty finish. Its balanced structure and lively acidity contribute to an ethereal ending, making it a very elegant yet chiseled Barsac. This blend of 94% Sémillon, 5% Sauvignon Blanc and 1% Muscadelle is matured for 18 months in barrels.-Yohan Castaing, The Wine Advocate

Tempting dried fruit here with spice and floral character. Full and creamy with attractive acidity and a textural finish. - James Suckling

Bight and fun, a lovely easy, clean and sleek texture, quite straight with focus and a sense of cool freshness on the palate with some soft bitter edges that are so appealing. Has a great frame, slowly expands, not so overtly sweet or zingy, but this is refined and well delivered, still with concentration in the depth and overall long length. 158g/l residual sugar. 3.88pH.-Georgina Hindle, Decanter

Luscious and sweet, sticky dates and crème caramel flavours, balanced by orange zest and lime. There is interest and contrast here, but even at this exceptional Barsac estate, owned by the Baly family, it is hard not to crave a little more lift. - Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux

Smells spicy and golden with barley-sugar sweetness (British hard candy). Very sweet and still balanced. Long, golden spicy finish. Viscously generous.-Julia Harding MW, JancisRobinson
