The 2021 Dauzac is pliant and super-expressive right out of the gate. Black cherry, espresso, licorice, dried herbs, menthol and lavender fill out the layers nicely. Bright acids play off the wine's succulent textures. The 2021 offers notable depth, but it is not as opulent as most years. As I have noted before, that is not a bad thing. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media
The 2021 Dauzac has a commendable bouquet with blackberry, wild strawberry and crushed stone scents, touches of iris flower emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a pliant entry, cohesive and much less bitter than its peers. It has a harmonious and pretty finish that, frankly, puts some grander names to shame. Bravo. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media
Attractive, silky tannins, great quality raspberry and redcurrant with signature floral character that brings you slap bang into the Margaux appellation. Once again the tannins are present and a little austere, but this has everything in place to soften further over ageing. 44hl/h yield. - Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux
Fragranced and nuanced on the nose with savoury touches, a lovely combination of ripe red and black fruits - cherries and bramble fruits with dark chocolate, liquorice and graphite touches. It's ample and generous and there is some glamour, but doesn't quite have the weight for the follow through at the moment. Lightly framed, good succulence, tension and precision but lacking a little depth. Definitely more linear and straight right now. Clear tobacco and coffee touches with mint too on the finish too. Feels sculpted with nice elements but will be good to age and round out. - Georgina Hindle, Decanter
