The 2017 Beaune 1er Cru Grèves is showing well from bottle, unfurling in the glass with aromas of strawberries, cherries and plums mingled with sweet soil tones and licorice. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, velvety and charming, with supple tannins and a pretty core of fruit.
The 2017 Beaune Grèves 1er Cru has a harmonious bouquet with ample ripe Morello cherry, strawberry and raspberry preserve aromas, a hint of vanilla in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, a little more compact than the Les Perrières and with more girth towards the grippy finish. As such, give this more bottle age because it is a fine Beaune Grèves. Neal Martin – Vinous Media
This cuvée benefits from old vines, nearly 60 on average. Medium deep purple, fruit and flowers to the fore. Lean and tight on the palate but stylish nonetheless. One third whole bunch. Quite linear but there is plenty to work with. Tasted: November 2018. Jasper Morris
