(bottled in August of 2005) Bright red-ruby. Pure, precise, extremely deep aromas of raspberry and minerals; another dimension here. A huge, mouthfilling wine that conveys an impression of great volume without any excess weight. This takes over the palate in a grand cru way. Extremely youthful and perhaps already beginning to shut down. Finishes with huge but silky tannins and palate-staining persistence. This extraordinarily rich wine will need at least a decade of aging to reveal its full potential.-- Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media
Tasting note: Gorgeously intense, refined and admirably fresh elegant red and black fruit that is not quite as ripe as that of the Péz leads to big, powerful and muscular though not robust flavors that display knock out depth of extract, excellent richness and serious length. Quite backward and tight and this will require the better part of a decade to be at its best. Highly recommended as much for its elegance and balance as for its power. Don’t Miss-Outstanding. -Allen Meadows, Burghound
