Tasting note: Incredibly dense black fruit of remarkable complexity gives way to what may be the most concentrated mid-palate of the entire range with spicy, pure, deep, broad, indeed almost masculine flavors that possess absolutely stunning length. A great Taillepieds in the making and while the tannins are abundant and prominent, they are also fine. In short, this is a real stunner of a wine that should age for years and may very well be the Taillepieds of the vintage. Outstanding. -Allen Meadows, Burghound
Good bright, deep red. Restrained but very ripe aromas of cherry, leather and truffle. Densely packed and superripe, with considerable power. This struck me as '47-like from barrel a year ago, and I have the same impression today. Finishes hugely tannic and palate-staining. This will age for a long time. -Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media
