Starting off the 2011s, both of which were tasted out of bottle numerous times, the 2011 Hermitage Domaine de Tourettes is another blockbuster from this producer. Full-bodied, rich, layered and voluptuously textured, it offers up a beautiful bouquet of smoked herbs, leather, ground pepper and assorted meaty nuances that are grounded by a rich core of cassis and darker berry fruit. While a big wine, it has remarkable freshness and purity, serious mid-palate depth and silky tannin, all of which allow it to dish out loads of pleasure, even now. Enjoy it over the coming 15-20 years. Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate
The superb 2011 Hermitage Domaine des Tourettes boasts a dense purple color as well as abundant aromas of creme de cassis, licorice, forest floor and pepper, a meaty, viscous texture, sweet tannin and loads of fruit presented in a well-balanced, pure, full-bodied style. It should be reasonably drinkable in 3-4 years and last for 20-25. (tasted December 2012) Robert Parker, Wine Advocate
A sleek style, with ample depth to the plum coulis, cassis and blackberry paste flavors, all carried by lively spice notes and racy acidity that lets the finish stretch out, revealing a lingering loamy edge. Best from 2014 through 2022. 260 cases imported James Molesworth, Wine Spectator
