This seductive wine is produced from 70-year-old vines planted in six parcels on the Fixin side of Brochon in the lieux-dits of Queue de Hareng, Vignois and Créole. There is notable structure, yet it retains a pleasantly forward drink-me-now character. The grapes are destemmed and fermented on native yeasts before ageing in mostly used casks over two winters to produce this eloquent wine, with dark, plummy fruit on the nose and refreshingly crisp acidity on the palate.--Charles Curtis MW, Decanter
The 2020 Côte de Nuits-Villages has a mixture of raspberry preserve, bilberry and light undergrowth scents on the nose that is slightly more backward than the Bourgogne Rouge. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fresh with blood orange notes complementing the vibrant red fruit on the finish, a dash of black pepper on the aftertaste.--Neal Martin, Vinous Media
The 2020 Côte de Nuits-Villages wafts from the glass with aromas of cherries, cassis and dark berries, framed by a deft touch of spicy oak. Medium to full-bodied, lively and concentrated, it's deep and sapid, with tangy acids and a long, penetrating finish. As I've written before, if there's a sleeper in the portfolio of this sought-after domaine, this cuvée—from the lieu-dit Queue de Hareng in Brochon—is it.--William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
