Aromas of red berries, plums, rose petals and spices introduce the 2021 Côte de Nuits-Villages, a medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny wine with a vibrant core of fruit, supple tannins and a penetrating, floral finish. Frost, hail and mildew mean just 7 barrels from a theoretical production of 22. The nose is less forthcoming than the Bourgogne Rouge though the fruit is clean on the palate, redcurrant, no great depth, a light touch of oak. No great persistence. Drink from 2024-2028.
