Richly scented and evocative on the nose, crystalline and pure, with fragrant and floral blue fruits and cool stoney touches. Feels well worked, tannins are beautifully integrated, plump, plush, velvety giving a serious and well-built frame but with enough freshness and acidity to keep things moving and lifted. I like this a lot, especially the florality and the juicy core. Elegant and refined with a lovely minty finish. Clearly concentrated and powerful with richness and body but with focus and such a seductive flavour and texture. 5% Cabernet Franc completes the blend. Harvest 8-23 September. - Georgina Hindle, Decanter
Firm and linear red with medium body and fine, sleek tannins. Juicy finish with a chalky mouthfeel. Fresh and attractive. - James Suckling
Ruby plum in colour, this is vibrant but not too intense, clear coffee notes, ripe plum and raspberry puree fruits. Plenty of tannins, and fresh acidities, an enjoyable Desmirail, bitter on the finish as is often the case in 2022. - Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux
The 2022 Desmirail offers up a lovely bouquet mingling tobacco, cassis, wild berries, spices and a touch of well-integrated toasted oak, followed by a medium to full-bodied, seamless and supple palate that's fleshy and sapid, concluding with a refined finish. It’s a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc. - Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate
A medium-bodied, elegant, graceful Margaux that does well in the vintage, the 2022 Château Desmirail offers an exotic style in its red and blue fruits as well as complex notes of sandalwood, spice, and flowery incense. Medium-bodied on the palate, supple, and elegant, with nicely integrated tannins and acidity, it should shine with just short-term cellaring. - Jeb Dunnuck
The 2022 Desmirail is quite aromatic and savory in this vintage. Dried herbs, flowers, mint, pipe tobacco and crushed red berry fruit all grace this mid-weight, perfumed Margaux. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media
The 2022 Desmirail is deep garnet-purple in color. Classic notes of cassis, baked plums, and cedar chest waft from the glass with nuances of fallen leaves and tilled soil. The medium-bodied palate is straight-laced, with a firm structure of grainy tannins and lively acidity supporting the muscular black fruits, finishing savory. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Independent
