Spiced stone fruits, caramelized orange, and some spicy wood notes all emerge from the 2023 Château Doisy-Védrines, a rich, full-bodied, powerful effort that has serious sweetness and opulence while holding everything together with good acidity. - Jeb Dunnuck
Silky texture, intense and opulent, this has the lift and sculpted acidities of the vintage in Barsac, with concentrated apricot, nectarine and pineapple. 9hl/ha yield.-Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux
The 2023 Doisy-Védrines doesn't quite deliver the complexity of the Doisy-Daëne on the nose, though it opens nicely with aeration to reveal lemon sherbet, saffron and light tangerine aromas. It is not as immediate as other Sauternes in this vintage, but it does exude elegance. The palate is well balanced with a very pure, tensile opening. This seems to be a less "fat" Doisy-Védrines compared to other vintages, possessing a fine bead of acidity. It’s lightly spiced with a tang of marmalade and quince toward the finish. This is a noble Barsac in the making. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media
A blend of 90% Semillon and 10% Sauvignon Blanc, the 2023 Doisy-Vedrines has 150 g/l of residual sugar and a pH of 3.7. It has a pale lemon-straw color and slowly emerges from the glass with evocative scents of lemon meringue pie, fresh pineapples, and sea spray, leading to hints of cinnamon and jasmine tea. The palate is concentrated, densely laden with tropical fruit and spicy accents, framed by just enough freshness, finishing long and chalky. Very pretty! - Lisa Perotti-Brown, Wine Independent
A focused and pure Sauternes with sliced-apricot and orange character, as well as apple pie and light caramel. Spicy. Medium-bodied, sweet and flavorful. Very pretty and true. - James Suckling
