An incipiently complex bouquet of Anjou pear, citrus oil and nutmeg preface the 2017 Meursault Vireuils, a medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered wine that's chalky, incisive and racy. The inherent tension of the site is tempered by the charm of the vintage to compelling effect. William Kelley – The Wine Advocate
One of the paler colours with a leaner nose than the straight Meursault. This site is late to ripen and thus delivers excellent tension and very high-class fruit on the palate. The class builds steadily to the back, with real elegance and some mineral energy. Tasted: October 2018. Jasper Morris – Inside Burgundy
Tasting note: Notes of matchstick, petrol, white flower and discreet citrus zest nuances comprise the cool and restrained nose. As is usually the case, the medium-bodied flavors are not as rich as those of the straight Meursault but there is noticeably more minerality and cut and particularly so on the sappy, long and bone dry finish. This offers excellent quality for a villages level wine. Outstanding – Top Value – Allen Meadows - Burghound
