Donnhoff Estate 2012 (750ML)

The 2012 Estate Riesling QbA has about 25 grams per liter of residual sugar this year, but because of the vintages lovely acids and striking minerality, it comes across as nearly dry. The very pretty nose wafts from the glass in a blend of apple, white cherries, lovely slate tones, petrol and a floral topnote redolent of cherry blossoms. On the palate the wine is medium-full, bright and complex, with a very soil-driven personality, fine mid-palate depth and fine length and grip on the bouncy and wide open finish. This is delicious.
