1966 DUCRU BEAUCAILLOU #26 DAMAGED LABEL, MID-TOP SHOULDER Medium brown colored with a touch of brick, the 1966 Ducru-Beaucaillou gives up savory notions of smoked meats, sautéed herbs and tapenade over a core of salted nuts, Fig Newtons and tobacco. Medium-bodied, the palate has a lot of freshness with finely grained tannins and loads of perfumed nuances coming through on the finish. While not generally a very long-lived vintage, this is still wonderfully elegant, graceful and delicious! - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Advocate The Ducru 1996 is less extravagant than the 2000. It shows a full body, with firm tannins and pretty floral, leaf, light earth and berry character. Needs drinking. - James Suckling Calvet label, shipped and bottled by Joules of Stone. Bright ruby. Flirtatious. Lively. Very pretty and fresh. Not heavyweight more ethereal. Lots of acidity. On the way down. A hint of Lafite 1973 quality but not quite as insouciant. - Jancis Robinson
