Black currant, chocolate and walnut aromas and flavors. It’s medium-bodied with polished tannins and a pretty texture. Vivid and creamy mouthfeel. Lovely finish. Second wine of Lynch-Bages. Better in 2025.- James Suckling
Such varietal Sauvignon Blanc aromas on the nose, freshly squeezed lemon, grass, elderflower, peach juice. So clear on the palate, crystalline purity with the richness coming a little from the Semillon on the mid palate. This has real austerity and minerality too in the sense of the salinity and wet stone notes that linger on the tongue, giving a slight cleanliness to the palate. Feels very precise - in high definition, each fruit and textural element sticking out with the floral nuances coming in towards the end. A direct style. Really excellent, it's taught and streamlined with these sharp lemon, green apple and grapefruit notes on the palate too, giving edges to the fruit while the overall lively acidity fills the mouth. 3.27pH. 2,000 case production. - Georgina Hindle, Decanter
Reserved in style, with a hint of alder out front, followed by gently mulled black cherry and currant fruit. Shows subtle tugs of earth and bay leaf that run underneath, blossoming a bit through the dark finish. Solid. Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2025 through 2035. 13,800 cases made. - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator
Brambled blue and black fruits, undergrowth, pencil lead and tobacco leaf, plenty of Pauillac character, with tannins that are almost limbering up and ready to drink, far earlier than in vintages like 2020 or 2022. This has some impressively silky tannins, and is an upscore. 11% new oak, rest one year old. 3.7ph.-Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux
The 2021 Echo de Lynch-Bages is a powerful, deep wine clearly marked by the year. In 2021, the Echo is quite a bit less fruity than is typical. There's also a touch less Cabernet Sauvignon in this year’s blend, but that is not evident given the wine’s personality.-Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media
Close to an even split of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the 2021 Echo De Lynch-Bages is surprisingly tight and closed, with almost reductive notes of smoky black cherries, graphite, and scorched earth. These carry over to the palate, where the wine is medium to full-bodied, has a concentrated, foursquare mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and outstanding length. The tannins are a bit aggressive, and this certainly might lack a touch of finesse, however, I do like the overall depth of fruit and its balance. Give bottles 2-3 years in the cellar, and I expect it will drink beautifully over the following decade.-Jeb Dunnuck
