From Vigneaux and the bottom bit of Brûlées because they don’t reckon it’s up to premier cru standard – a little bit rustic. And young vines. Racked and in tank. No whole bunch. Deep crimson. Quite tight and pungent on the nose – vinified, like all these 2016s, without sulphur. Lots of fruit – very exuberant, but precise too. Long and reverberant. Jancis Robinson

The 2016 Vosne-Romanée Village, which includes declassified young vines from the premier crus, was matured in 30% new oak. Everything here is destemmed. It has a lovely bouquet with blackberry and bilberry fruit, well defined and elegant. The palate is medium-bodied with dark cherry and blackcurrant fruit, fine tannin and well-judged acidity. I would just like to see more red fruit, more pinoté develop by the time this is in bottle. Neal Martin - The Wine Advocate
