Bright light yellow. Knockout nose offers scents of apricot, quince, flint and white flowers. Distinctly cooler on the palate than the Vaillons, showing a stronger mineral cast to the lightly saline flavors of stone fruits, hawthorn and wild rose. Finishes very long and subtle, with the salty quality repeating. This has close to 13% natural alcohol.
A restrained and admirably pure nose displays notes of mineral reduction, green fruit and sea breeze hints. This is also quite generously proportioned with round and caressing medium weight flavors that deliver solid depth and reasonably good length on the agreeably dry and clean finish. This too is quite forward and should drink well after only a few years of bottle age. Allen Meadows, Burghound
