The 2014 Morey St Denis 1er Cru Vieilles Vignes, obviously from the oldest vines courtesy of premier crus dating back to 1936, has a precise, mineral-driven bouquet that seems so crystalline. The palate is medium-bodied with silky smooth texture, vivacious red cherry and strawberry notes, very finessed and harmonious on the finish. You can tell this was cropped at just 20 to 25 hectoliters per hectare -- the concentration is here, ditto the tension. This is superb. –Neal Martin – The Wine Advocate
Tasting note: This is also cool, pure and airy with its slightly more deeply pitched nose of plum, various red berries and discreet spice and rose petal nuances. There is an almost easy-going aspect to the generous and plump middle weight flavors that possess a velvety, even suave mouth feel while delivering reasonably good length. Despite how forward the mid-palate is, the moderately firm tannins suggest that this will need 6 to 8 years to fully mature. Drink 2021+ -Allen Meadows, Burghound
