Rich dense purple, super-succulent. But this is balanced and clean cut, with raspberry, some riper notes but the equilibrium has been entirely maintained. Long finish. Tasted: November 2019 Jasper Morris – Inside Burgundy
The 2018 Morey-Saint-Denis Clos Solon wafts from the glass with notes of cherries, smoky wild berries, cassis and rose petals. Medium to full-bodied, supple and charming, its ripe core of fruit is framed by powdery tannins. This is a touch richer and deeper-pitched than the 2017 rendition, but it will offer a similarly broad drinking window. Wiliam Kelley – The Wine Advocate
Mid crimson. Dark fruited and peppery opening up to the most gorgeous yet delicate floral note of peony. Succulent, dry, fine tannins. Very pure and with all the complexity of Morey. Tannins finish slightly chalky, adding to the very good freshness. (JH) Julia Harding MW – Jancis Robinson
