There's a very complex and fresh nose with elegant red cherries, spices and light herbal nuances. Smells very fresh. The palate has beautiful focus and depth with effortless rich dark and red cherries cast amid perfectly proportioned silk-smooth tannins. Long and so focused, the finish is superb. Try from 2022.-James Suckling
Bright and juicy, this is packed with cherry, strawberry, floral and mineral aromas and flavors. Linear in shape and tightly wound, yet very pure, with a long, detailed aftertaste that pulls all the elements together. Best from 2021 through 2040. 350 cases imported.-Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator
The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is finessed in the glass, perfumed with nuances of violet and rose, as hints of fresh plum and dried sage evolve over time. This floods the palate with textures like pure silk, washing masses of savory red berries and spices across a balanced core of saline-tinged acidity. A tart twang of sour cherry and hints of citrus electrify the finale, as smooth tannins add a gentle grip, and hints of licorice slowly taper off. The 2012 is a gentle giant with the balance to mature beautifully for years to come; but that said, there’s no shame in checking in on it now; just make sure to let it breathe to unlock its charming bouquet-Eric Guido, Vinous Media
The captivating 2012 Fuligni Brunello Riserva has alluring aromas of forest floor, pressed violet, prune, baking spice and balsamic notes of camphor. On the taut, full-bodied palate, still fresh acidity and tightly knit, fine-grained tannins support dried cherry, licorice and nutmeg before closing on a note recalling almond liqueur. Drink through 2032. Abv: 14.5% Kerin O’Keefe
The extremely warm summer was capped by significant diurnal temperature differences in September. Grapes were small with thick skins giving lots of aromas and structure. Zefferini calls the wine baroque in style. It has gone all earthy and balsamic in personality with mint, sage and bay leaf nuances. Plump, seductive fruit is hemmed in by a firm hand of smooth, layered tannins. And there is an innate juiciness that buoys all the concentration. It finishes with dusty Mediterranean herbs and a decisive stoniness. Friendly now with at least another dozen years of pleasure to unpack.-Micheala Morris, Decanter
Mid ruby with narrow orange rim. Alluring cherry nose with minerally notes. Gorgeous intensity and length, the fruit streamlined with sappy acidity and fine, long tannins. Lots of class. Will give lots of pleasure for years to come.-Walter Speller, JancisRobinson
