Honey, apricot pit, orange blossom and white truffles are some of the many notes that take shape in the 2005 Brut Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs d'Aÿ, a rare 100% Chardonnay from a village that is far better known for the quality of its Pinots. The flavors are exotic, lush and super-expressive, while texturally the 2005 is quite resonant. This is a terrific showing in a year that has proven to be so inconsistent. The 2013 was disgorged in October 2013. Dosage is 8 grams per liter. Bottled in magnums. Antonio Galloni
