The NV Brut Cuvée de Réserve is another highlight in this range from Chiquet. Translucent and finely cut, the Cuvée de Réserve is a wine of total precision. This release is a blend of 40% Pinot Meunier, 35% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Noir. Disgorged: March 2016. Dosage is 8 grams per liter. Antonio Galloni – Vinous Media
Disgorged in February 2019 after 84 months sur lattes, the NV Brut Cuvée de Réserve from Gaston Chiquet is showing well, offering up a classy bouquet yellow orchard fruit, warm biscuits, hazelnuts and peach. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and charming, it's deep and layered, with a sweet core of fruit and an ultra-refined mousse. While it's hard to resist today, such is the wine's inherent generosity, a few more years on cork will be rewarded with even greater complexity. - WK, Wine Advocate
The NV Champagne Cuvée de Reserve Brut is 40% Meunier, 35% Chardonnay, and the rest to Pinot Noir. It is 93% from the 2013 vintage with the small remainder from 2009. Loads of ripe fruit, kirsch, boysenberry liqueur, and a bit of shitake (umami) is followed by a boldness on the palate, although it doesn’t have a tremendous amount of depth beyond that. It is balanced, though, and another great autumnal, food-friendly wine I would recommend at the table for pairing. Drink 2022-2036. - AF, JebDunnuck .com
This expressive Champagne leads with ripe and juicy black cherry and black raspberry fruit, with chopped almond, candied lemon peel and fleur de sel accents. Bright and creamy, with a spiced finish. Disgorged October 2020. Drink now. 95 cases imported. - AN, Wine Spectator
A terrific expression of a Pinot-dominated wine from sites around the village of Dizy, with Meunier in the ascendant, lending notes of brioche, soft red fruit and an approachably fruity personality. The wine wears its 8 g/L of sugar effortlessly, and combines an autolytic elegance, courtesy the inclusion of a healthy slug of reserve wines, with a complexity bequeathed by long ageing on the lees. - SF, Decanter
For the millennium, the Chiquets produced a special wine called the Cuvée de Réserve, blended from the vintages of 1993, 1992 and 1991. It was designed “just to show the oxidation that we can have by longer aging on the lees,” says Chiquet, and pleased with the results, they decided to continue producing it. Since the 2004-based edition, however, it's been made from the same blend as the Tradition, aged for a longer time in the cellars before release—this aging can be either on the lees or after disgorgement, and in practice it's usually a blend of both. - Peter Liem, Champagne Guide
