A powerful, virile 2011, Gazin reveals a dense ruby/purple color, a big, meaty, earthy richness, lots of coffee, black cherry liqueur and spice notes, and a full-bodied mouthfeel. It will benefit from another 3-4 years of cellaring and should keep for 15+ years. - Robert M. Parker, Jr., The Wine Advocate
The 2011 Gazin has a lovely, open and generous bouquet with red berry fruit, pencil shavings, smoke and autumn bonfire. Yes, something very October-ish about the aromatics! The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, a little chewy, not quite as pliant or as complex as the '11 Trotanoy, though there is admirable substance on the finish. Give this another year in bottle. Tasted blind at the annual 10-Year-On tasting. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media
Tasted blind. Blackish crimson – looks very young! Sweet biscuits on the nose. Gunmetal and fruit – interesting! Some quite dry tannins. Shame about those tannins because there is lots else to like.-Jancis Robinson
