The 2017 Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Gravains 1er Cru contains 60% whole clusters, though it is difficult to tell, as the nose of morello cherry and strawberry is so fresh and pure. The palate is succulent on the entry with tart red cherries, a vein of graphite and a slightly short yet well-defined finish. Enjoy over several years. -- Neal Martin – Vinous Media
Bottled end November. 40 hl/ha without special measures to restrict the yield. 60 whole bunch. Lighter mid red purple Indeed it is that frizzy whole bunch character that shows, red fruit with some orange notes, no more than medium bodies somewhat sweet and sour behind yet very persistent.-Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
Bottled this morning. 20 ppm total and 7 ppm free SO2. Added some CO2 to help protect the wine. 60% whole bunch.
Deep to mid crimson. Spicy red fruit on the nose, lifted and bright with ripe sour-cherry zest. That sour zestiness on the palate too but not in a bad way, just very tangy. Chewy tannins and just a little dilute on the mid palate. (JH) Jancisrobinson.com
