70% whole bunch. From barrel but will go to tank tomorrow and probably be bottled 5 January.
Mid cherry red. Expressive and spicy exuberant red fruits on the nose. Lots of fruit sweetness. With a fine floral note. On the palate, however, much less exuberant, closed, and the tannins seem quite dry. Lots of freshness but the palate seems disappointing because rather closed – hard to judge now. The texture is fine but the fruit is hiding on the mid palate. (JH)
The 2017 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru contains 70% whole bunch fruit. It has a charming red cherry and crushed strawberry bouquet with fine delineation. The medium-bodied palate offers supple tannin, a fine bead of acidity and pretty tart red fruit, but I would be seeking just a little more substance on the finish. Perhaps that will develop by the end of élevage. Jancisrobinson.com
