The 2022 Vosne-Romanée Quatrain is fine-boned and perfumed, unfurling in the glass with notes of plums, sweet spices and smoky berries, followed by a medium to full-bodied, suave and seamless palate that's pure and precise. Tasting note: Once again the expressive nose is overtly floral in character with its nose of violet, rose petal and lavender nuances that add elegance to the mostly red currant and spice aromas. The sleek, intense and delicious middleweight flavors possess a velvety mid-palate mouthfeel that contrasts somewhat with the very punchy, youthfully austere and firm finale. This too is excellent.

Mid red purple. Very reduced today. Now some spice coming out behind. An agreeable supple fruit through the middle before the reductive element currently dries the finish. Medium length. When the reductive character has disappeared, this wine might rate considerable higher. Drink from 2028-2035. Tasted: November 2023.—Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy

The 2022 Vosne-Romanée Quatrain comes from terroirs located in the north and south of the appellation. The nose offers vivacious raspberry and wild strawberry laced with crushed stone - almost flinty aromas. Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with a sapid entry and a keen line of acidity. It is fresh, though not necessarily powerful, gently fanning out on the finish that is oddly Gevrey in style. Elegant and quite cerebral.-Neal Martin, Vinous Media
