The initial nose is quite shy, but coaxing reveals a character expressing white fruit such as pear and spring flowers enhanced by pastry and citrusy notes. The palate has a suave, even mouthcoating texture and remarkable depth that is beautifully sustained by chalky salinity and a gorgeous grapefruit taste. The overriding impression is of a Champagne having less of the Cistercian austerity that underlies the classic Gosset house style, but one that could benefit from another decade of ageing. Dosage: 7g/L. Disgorged: March 2022. - YC, Decanter
Gosset’s first bottling of this small batch 100% Chardonnay cuvée, the Celebris Blanc de Blancs 2012 is absolutely brimming with beautiful aromas of ripe citrus, cold butter, pastry dough and viburnum blossom. The medium-bodied palate is focused and opulent with ripe stone fruit freshness intertwined with vivacious, chalky acidity and lovely honeycomb notes that leave you thirsty for more. More buoyant than many other 2012’s, it is fresh, expressive and elegant through the long, creamy finish. This 2012 was aged nine years in cellars, disgorged in March 2022 and finished with a seven gram per liter dosage. 15,000 bottles were made. - Sarah Mayo, Wine Independent
A firm, focused Champagne, with hints of smoke and toasted brioche accenting poached apricot, lemon curd, pastry dough and candied ginger. Creamy on the palate, with racy acidity driving the spiced finish. Opens nicely in the glass and should benefit from some short-term cellaring. Best from 2025 through 2035. - A.N., Wine Spectator
Gosset's 2012 Brut Blanc de Blancs Celebris is showing beautifully, offering up aromas of crisp stone fruits, ripe pomelo, buttery pastry and flowers, followed by a medium to full-bodied, pillowy and precise palate with a racy spine of acidity and a mouthwateringly chalky finish. - William Kelley, Wine Advocate
